A cordial welcome to our 14th Annual. CdC Tennis Tournament and a gracious thank you for your generous support.
In 2005 while playing in the Annual CdC Caddies Tournament I asked my playing partner, Marty Chattman. “Why doesn’t someone start a tournament for our ”‘Tennis Teaching Pros”? Marty replied ” that’s a good suggestion and since it. was your idea why don’t you do it”! So in 2006 with the cooperation of the La Romana Country Club we held our first tournament, and now here we are 10 years later.
I have always felt that the best way to escape poverty and secure a good job is to obtain an excellent education. That is why the Foundation’s main purpose is to teach the children English and provide them with scholarships for both high school and college.
After starting out with only 1 Individual Sponsor and 1 Corporate Sponsor we now have 98 Individual Sponsors and 23 Corporate Sponsors. For me personally, this 14 year journey, helping the young poor people that live in La Romana, has been a labor of love and a very rewarding experience. It has also been my pleasure to work with all of you and on behalf of all the ball boys and players I want to once again thank you for your loyal and generous support.
